A Spectacular New Find - 02/12/11

I saw an ad on Craigslist for beer cans (which I collect). I called, visited the man selling the cans and bought what he had (for an incredible price). This is one of my best finds ever. Cone tops and flat tops are very hard to find in good condition. Some of these cans I purchased today are quite desirable. These cans date from the 1930's to 1950's. All in all, a very good purchase. If you are a beer can collector like me, you'll understand my excitement. Thanks for looking.

Very nice collection of vintage cans. When I started collecting cans in the late 70's, I always wished I could have gone back to that era and picked up all of those cone tops and flats. How much do you estimate the retail value of your purchase?

Nice collection. I have a few Utah ones hanging around somewhere, when I find them, I will get your addy and send them to you.

Wow, great score there.

I wish I would have had the room to keep my old beer can collection, but got rid of 95% of it some years ago.

Nice score Steve.

I was watching an episode of American Pickers a while back and they went into an old building and there was what looked like a bunch of old Cone Top cans setting on a shelf in one of the scenes. They didn't actually go look at them or show them. They were just in the background. There was another spot they went to where the guy had a bunch of artifacts in a case but they didn't focus on those either. You could see them in one of the scenes inside the building.

CacheFind09, Thanks for the question. If I were to place each can on Ebay individually, they would sell for approximately $1300.00 The price is influenced by the Old Bohemia beer can and the Hyde Park beer can. These are the best two out of the bunch. I will sell a few to recoup my purchase price of $200.00, but the rest will likely go on my shelf in my 'man cave' after being cleaned up a bit.
