" Lost Cave City in the Grand Canyon? "

Just a couple interesting links I was reading this morning, thought I'd share them here.

" Archeological Coverups
by David Hatcher Childress

Perhaps the most amazing suppression of all is the excavation of an Egyptian tomb by the Smithsonian itself in Arizona. A lengthy front page story of the Phoenix Gazette on April 5, 1909, gave a highly detailed report of the discovery and excavation of a rock-cut vault by an expedition led by a Professor S.A. Jordan of the Smithsonian. The Smithsonian, however, claims to have absolutely no knowledge of the discovery or its discoverers. "

I wish we really did have some lost civilizations on this continent to be found.

Yes, there are mounds everywhere.
But I highly doubt there was an Egyptian tomb in the Grand Canyon!

Throughout the northeast we have hundreds of underground chambers randomly in the woods. Many of them have proven just to be root cellars, but some people seem to think they're either native or evidence of pre-columbian occupation by phonecians or druids. Pretty cool when you look into it.

I'm really interested in these underground chambers associated with the natives. There are some along the ridges that parallel a major river here. One of the most interesting is a cave with glyphs and an altar carved out of sandstone that is believed to be a sacrifice altar.

Nice drawing and diagram.

Yeah same here with the altar, one complex is centered around a giant granite slab with a gutter along the edges like a huge cutting board. Supposedly they identified an ancient irish writing called ogham and an icon representing a phonecian god in the same complex, but i'm not sure how much stock i put in that. A lot of the belief that it isn't native just stems from colonial-era racism that tried to paint the indigenous population as too lazy to work with stone, but stone fish dams and such in my area have proven otherwise. There are great pictures of some of the chambers and random megalithic sites here: Photos

Great link, thanks. Alot of research and pictures there. Here's some more on that Ogham script. Prehistoric WV

I've got a book called " All that remains " by Robert L. Pyle, the archy who discovered some ogham petroglyphs in West Virginia, it's a good read if you can find a copy. There have been Hopewell / Adena tablets found in Ohio and West Virginia and elsewhere with what appears to be egyptian script, and somewhere I read those cultures spoke an egyptian dialect.

Entableture - Historiography of Cahokia From the Earliest Times to European Arrival

Coincidence? maybe, It's hard to seperate fact from fiction when history is written by the victor and religion, geopolitical issues, etc. get thrown into the mindset and history books. Who knows.
