Where do you get material for knapping?

I've been trying to find where to buy flint/chert/obsidian/anything since none of it naturally occurs within 100 miles of me. Is there anywhere I can buy it aside from ebay?

You can look on Paleo Planet or try websites like neolithics.com.

Check your local lanscape supply yards. Chances are you'll find knappable rock. Quartz and basalt/siltstone were used by the ancient peoples in the area. These stones are not easy to knapp, so you might want to get some glass. Black glass is identical to black obsidian.

Here's an interesting link to lithic resources used in the pre-history of your area:

If you are just looking for "any" knapping material, hit up your local glass shop. Usually they will have some remnants around that they'll be glad to just let you take. Often you'll get some colorful, good quality stuff.
