Little petroglyph Canyon, Heading back!!!

just got the phone call yesterday.. Going back to Little Petroglyph Canyon for the Tour thru the Maturango museum!!!
This time it will be My baby sister Valerie, my eldest niece Melissa and my Cousin Christine plus yours truly doing the Hike to see the beautiful Rock Art.
Very excited to go back because I remember how wonderful it was to go the first time with my Father one month before he passed away in 2009.
My Dad talked about how great it was to go see the Petroglyphs his last month, and we had talked about booking another trip there for 2010.. He was cremated and we sent some of his ashes back to Alabama for my Cousins, Aunts and Uncles to spread at Hatchett Creek.. The remaining ashes are being spread around California at his favorite Places.
Since he really loved Little Petroglyph Canyon, we are taking some of his ashes there with us and will spread them amoung the Petroglyphs, so Dad will be staying among them forever...
(I do not know if what we are doing is legal, and frankly do not care, let them arrest me for spreading his ashes...)
So My Father is going back to one of his favorite places he ever visited, and he gets to stay there forever...

October 22nd , I'm taking My Father back to the Petroglyphs.. YES!!!!!

I can think of no better thing.

A song by Dave Carter gives me chills and believe personifies how I feel about my time "to go"..The Last Verse of "When I Go"

Stand In The Mist where my Fire Used to Burn
I will Camp On the Night Breeze When I go
And should you Glimpse My Wandering Form out on the Border Line
Between Death And Resurrection and the Council Of the Pines
Do Not Worry for My Comfort Do Not Sorrow For Me So
All You Diamond Tears Will Rise Up And Adorn The Sky Beside Me
When I Go

What a great way to honor your dad. I would hope my sons will have the same consideration.

I notice that in the one pic your dad is wearing a pair of bib overalls. Nice. My grandad, who was the most honest and honorable man I've ever known, always wore bibs. For some reason I always notice when I see someone wearing them. And I have a pair on right now. Anyway, you've picked a great way to honor your dad. Cherish the memories.

Yes, My Father wore Bib Overalls constantly.. they were his trademark clothing. at the Funeral service I wore a tie & jacket.. and a pair of Dad's overalls. My sister, Nephew, nieces and numerous Friends and family wore overalls as well.. Dad would have loved it.

19 days until we head in, gonna be great!!!!
(as long as we do not get the phone call from the Museum that the Hike has been cancelled by the Navy that is...)
