Caddo Pottery

Morning,

As I said before, I dont have the patience for flintknapping. I have always loved the black Caddo ware. Low oxygen firing will produce some really pretty pottery from native clay. I worked on making the stuff without benefit of a wheel and fired it in the native fashion. What do you think of my results??

Yes that is an authentic hematite axe in there as well as some other ends and pieces. Dont have the time for it that I used to, job tends to get in the way of hobbies...an unfortunate fact of life.

Later,

Atlantis

Those are awesome. How long did it take to learn how to make them?Do you mix any shell in with your clay?

Very nice. Good accurate work. I have seen some video demonstrations and presentations on technique, and it does not look easy.
