Pine Pitch "How to"
I assume pine pitch was the primary hafting glue in these parts. When it thaws out a bit around here I am going to cook up a batch as learning how to knap and haft is a goal for 2012.
Here is a detailed link from start to finish on making pine pitch: How to Make Pine Pitch |

Cool stuff, the are a couple of different formulas out there but that looks like a good process and recipe. (I'd make sure the pitch was really cool before I balanced it on my thigh like he does in that picture, one wrong move and you'd have the start of a winning episode of "Dumbest ways to die.")
