jason-that knappin' contraption is cool. i saw one made by a guy who sells a similar type deal.

i plan on buying one of these from him one day-it would be a real palm-saver. although its true you do learn to cut yourself LESS often after a while, it is a bloodsport none the less.

we played this game at my first knap-in at bois d'arc last september. its called speed knapping. 10 people bring a good knapping rock and five bucks. rocks are numbered and drawn by lot. you have 10 minutes to knap a useable arrowhead by percussion and pressure. everyone knaps at once and there is a time keeper. best USEABLE point wins $50.

5 of these players were world class knappers (not me!) and even 2 of them BLED all over their rocks!

That sounds like good fun,,I use to have a VCR videotape on knapping and it showed this game being played. I can't remember what one it was. Think I got it from Knappers Corner.

Never seen a device like that one you showed. Interesting,,I may have try making something like it to try.
