I can see them all used as drills! Most drills come from "exhausted knives", then drill use was done with them! Drills with more rounded necks and polish are past the point of a good cutting edge! Thus drilling becomes it's task! Drilling for clothes, leather carriers, shelters, etc! Some drills are made right off the bat as "drills"!! Very important tool and when digging around here, multiple drills come out of small areas, were IMO, important tasks were being done! I don't buy the hairpin gig, but seems like a maybe? And if a piece looks like a drill, well it probably is, because even if it has a sharp edge, wouldn't it drill better, first stage drills???

You know Cluton I've noticed a lot of drills coming from small areas as well and frequently almost all with the blade snapped off in exactly the same place indicating similar use patterns. At Chrisners I have at least seven broken small thick paddle drills with medial ridge and roughly diamond shape cross section. Four from an area about twenty square feet. Obvious task specific work area. Other friends report similar findings.
