Pecked vs. Ground vs. Polished Stone?
I'm always reading about hardstone artifacts being something called "pecked"...but I'm not sure if I know what that looks like. Can someone show me a couple of pictures of a pecked artifact as opposed to a ground or polished one???

Pecking with a harder hammerstone was to shape stuff. Followed by grinding it.

I think celts are a good choice to demonstrate the difference between pecked and polished because many have areas of both. All three of these celts have pecking and a ground to polish bit. The pecking can be seen as rough, coarse marks towards the end of hafting area. The polished areas towards the bit can be seen in these examples.
