An Unusual Scraping Tool
A creek find in September 2010. At roughly two and one half by three and one half inches and made of a dense fine grained sand stone material. A multipurpose tool with two serviceable cutting edges and a scraping edge. What I find unusual and interesting is the manner in which it is grasped. Sized to be comfortably held within the hand, the chisel bevel of the scraping edge is supported by the heel of the palm. This allows a straight pull towards the body, unlike the normal pull that is slightly tangential to the body. When in hand this tool seems to be efficient and comfortable. I wonder if this is an early answer to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I have placed more photos in an album, " unique scraper".

I don't see any signs at all that it has been modified by human hands. Just an ordinary rock that happens to fit in the hand IMO.
