Thanks for this post Dave, I have been thinking about doing one on him myself!
I have read his books and admired his art for many years...His life was fascinating and the stories he wrote about his travels to different tribes all over America are awesome along with his artwork! Joyce

Something like 48 or 50 tribes he visited. Many of which it was the first time a white man ever recorded anything about their lives. Really amazing stuff from an anthropological side.
