12/8/11 - 1 Blade, 2 Pearls, 12 Diamonds

Yesterday I felt like taking a long hike, so I decided to finish walking the rest of a big island that I have hunted before but never finished walking. This spot has been pretty good to me I have been there twice and both times found something worth taking home. So yesterday I started where I left of the last time I was there and about 1 hour into my hunt I found this pretty nice blade laying in about 5 inches water. When I first saw it I thought it was just another piece of limestone but because of its shape I figured I would pick it up. I was very surprised to say the least when it came out of the water because for the last hour I had been tricked by more than a few junk pieces of limestone that looked good from far but were far from good when I pulled them out of the water. A couple hours after I found this piece it was starting to get dark and I was at the furthest tip of the island from where I had started so I figured I would walk around the other side of the island instead of going back the same way I came. I was almost back to my truck when I came across a really grungy looking day bag that was covered in mud laying on the edge of the bank. I started to walk past it when I decided to check it out, maybe there was money inside? Nope no money, but when I looked in the change pouch I saw something shiny and when I pulled it out it was a 14kt gold ring with 2 pearls and 12 little diamonds in it. The only thing in this bag was this ring, and it was in the only sipped up pocket on the whole bag. I could not believe my luck 1 blade and one gold ring not a bad haul for the day. Sorry no in-situs the camera I use to take these pictures is not mine so I am hesitant about bringing it with me on hunts, but with any luck maybe after I sell this ring I can buy one of my own. Thanks for looking.

I feel sorry for the person who lost their ring. But not for the indian who lost his blade! Great double score for you that's for sure.

If you don't sell the ring you should display them both how you have them in the picture. It looks cool and there's a story there.

Good finds...
the way you found the ring sounds suspicious...meaning maybe someone was trying to get rid of it for a reason?

If it was me, I'd sell the ring and buy nice cases for the points!
