Smile 12/10/2011 My 1st Complete Drill

Hi Everyone, I went for a hunt yesterday at one of my river spots one that I have not been to in a while. I decided this time I would bring a make-shift screen and a little shovel to see if I could find anything in the sand at the base of the riverbank. I had been screening in one section of the bank for about 2 hours and was about to give up when I found this drill. It is my first complete drill so it was a pretty exciting find. I'm not sure of the type but I think it is probably late Woodland era. Also sorry about not having an in-situ I finally borrowed a camera to take with me and when I went to take a picture of it in the screen the batteries went dead and I did not have any new ones with me. I was so mad. Thanks for looking, Doug.

Fantastic and in exceptional condition as well!! Congrats. Nice nice ninth inning find! What other evidence did you find in the sand (ie;flakes, burned rock, etc.)?

Many of us have been there on the battery mishap. The find itself more than makes up for that. Congrats on a great first. Glad to see your efforts paid off so nicely.

Nice perfect Drill,
I know it's hard work sifting in the river with long periods of nothing then BAMM the adrenalin rush of finding something like that.
Congrats on finding your first drill.

Very nice drill you have there and you should be very excited on finding that one. Whole ones just aren't easy to find. When using batteries in cold weather, try to keep them warm, it will make them last longer before losing their charge.
