Grubbing In-Situ, Small Lanceolate

Hey everyone, I have been having some success grubbing lately at one of my river spots so yesterday I decided to try it again. After four hours of grubbing I finally pulled up this point. I have never found a point of this style here and I am a little confused as to its type. It looks to be a small lanceolate form, maybe a re-sharpened down Agate Basin or Midland? When I pulled this one up I had been grubbing farther out into the river where it is more mud than sand. Based on the amount of river sludge that was stuck to it I am assuming this has been in the river a long time. The first couple non in-situ pics show what it looked like when I first pulled it out of the river it was caked in a heavy layer of I don't know what? but the last few pics show what it looks like after spending the night in a bath of vinegar and a good scrubbing. I would really like to figure out what kind of point this could be, and you have read my guesses as to its type so if anyone has any other ideas as to what it could be I am all ears. Thanks for looking, Doug.

Thats a real nice one! Vinegar does some wonders. I wouldn't know exactly what type it is.

Wow. Cool point. It looks paleo. Is it too river polished to see if the basal hafting area is ground?

It is pretty polished but I don't think that the hafting area is ground.

Thanks Jason, your right grubbing this way is backbreaking work but as long a points keep coming up it's worth it. As far as the point being fluted I did not want to be the first person to say it but yes it does to me look and feel fluted. Thanks for your comments, Doug.

Thanks Ohioan, I have been Really fortunate to find some really good spots. It is almost like a dream for me, because when I first started arrowhead hunting I had some really hard times trying to find anything. I owe a lot to everyone here on this site for helping me to find some success by answering my questions and giving me tips and advice on how, where, and when to hunt. Thanks. Doug
