Yesterdays find, Net Weight

Hey everyone went out hunting yesterday for an hour or so, we just got quite a bit of rain the day before so I went to check out one of my river spots. My plan was to do some grubbing but the wind was blowing really hard and the water was super choppy so I decided to just walk the bank and see if anything new had been washed out. I found this net weight laying in the sand, it is the second one that I have found this year. It is a little more than 3/4 grooved, and a lot bigger than the other one I found and not very pretty but it was still a cool find. I also found this really round rock, I think that it is granite. I dont usually take rocks home with me if I'm not sure that they are some type of artifact but this one just caught my interest for some reason. It is just really round and pretty smooth on the sides I think it could be a hammerstone and maybe through use became very round in shape. Anyway I thought it was interesting so that is why I have included pictures of it. Thanks for looking.

Nice. Still waiting to find my first net weight. I've probably stepped over quite a few.

A lot like Waco Sinkers here in central Texas but a little bigger. Very nice find. Congrats!

LOVE the sinker... Could the granite piece be a discoidial preform??? Interesting find... Thanks for sharing, Raymond

Thanks everyone for your comments, and Raymond I was kind of thinking that the granite piece could be a preform of some kind and by the way it is shaped, a discoidial would make a lot of sense. There is just something about its shape that made me want to take it home it is just so round and uniform in thickness I do believe that it was eventually going to be some type of finished artifact. Thanks again, Doug.
