My biggest pottery portion yet

Im just getting around to posting this from around Thanksgiving. This is the largest portion of pottery i have found. Unfortunatly there isnt really any neat patters or desighns, but im still glad to find it regardless. I clearcoated over the pieces and am in the process of gluing the togather.

Good luck to everyone.
Mitch

That is pretty cool. Have you had much luck finding other stuff coming out of the same bank?

I have a little bit ol luck with a few bird points and pottery shards. i have found alot of stuff on the little sand bar in front of the bank, where every thing on the bank washes down to though. I have also seen several places in the banks with ash, maybe from campfires.

Looking at the way the piece is lined up in the bank, it really looks like it was buried in that spot.

I'd be tempted to use a bottle probe or a long piece of rebar to probe the area and see if there isn't more of it, or other examples nearby.

Here is one from one of my sites, behind this one there were more pots.

I have found several other portions about 2/3s of the size of the one in the post, plus hundreds of little pieces and over 20 point. And the bank and the little beach below it are only about 50 ft long and 8 foot. Its my best site by far.
Thanks everyone for the views and info!
