1,500 posts and a recent addition

I really like to do mile-marker posts with some personal finds, but business has really been getting in the way of the more important things in life...

I picked up a couple of items at the Townsend auction. This hematite cone was the cheapest, but is probably my favorite of the pieces I bought.

There have been a couple of different posts about cones, about the only thing people can agree on regarding cones is that they are cool.

Nice round number and that cone is cool. My wife found one here in the Owens Valley of California. It is an oddball artifact for sure.

Very nice example. They're really cool puzzling artifacts along with hemispheres, boatstones, loafstones, etc.

Those definitely seem to be a bit of an enigma. But a very desirable one. Very fine acquisition. Nice to see and keep up the great work on the posts.

I've always admired nice cones, but don't they usually come in pairs?

Congrats on your 1500th post and on the great acquisition of the great looking Cone. I've found a few really nice ones and acquired a few myself. Great little artifacts.
