Double find surface hunt from early last Spring 2011.

These were found on the same site/same day early last Spring. They both pretty much bugged out my eyeballs upon first discovering them. Mostly because both were pretty much laying out in plain sight. And then also as were both found just across the property lines from other unsuspecting folks's houses too!

Will begin with my first ever Godar point, In-Situ.

Point has been removed for pic below, it's imprint still visible above.

With the Godar safely secured, I made one more down and back pass. Towards the end of the second half of that pass, I encountered the welcome sight to behold as seen below.

The next pic shows how close to the landowner's neighbors I am hunting on this site. I know when to hunt this spot so these neighbors aren't home to watch what's gong on with a front row view.

My two closely timed finds together. The axe is actually a fairly large and hefty specimen in comparison to the 3 inch Godar. You may have to look closely here to see that the axe is also double grooved.

Axe after removal and imprint

I'm quite fond of this one, as it has alot of character going for it.

Truth be told - I don't always find the time during the most productive part of my hunting season for me to post up my finds. So will be working at catching up some more of that yet this Winter from my previous 2011 discoveries. So more to be coming.

What a killer point and monster axe!!!! Heck of a day of zigzagging, bro! OR is it zagzigging

I suspect the neighbors response to your quest to find artifacts from their feild was a no-go!!?

Thanks to all for the great responses. I'm pretty sure I was smiling all the way home on this day. Is a 1.5 hour drive to this area. So that's alot of smiling!

N - You know, I'm still trying to find the answer to that one myself. Is always such a dilemma with the whole zig vs zag question. One thing is for certain, practice makes perfect as they say. So get out there and practice, practice, practice!

Jason - The farmed field I have permission to hunt from the farmer/owner. The neighbor is situated just across the boundary property line. I just don't want them to know what they are missing out on practically in their own backyard. Or could spell the end to my pickings's for this little honey hole for me.
