My first insitu

Thought I'd share my first insitu pics. Too bad for the broken base.......
It appears to have basal flute on one side...I would welcome your opinions!
(not too sure how well the close ups will appear)
Thanks!

Nice Insitu.
The Flute does appear to intention.(Controlled Channel Flute) and not just a Basal Impact fracture.///JMO

More close ups

This was a creek find with heavy staining. It does not appear that the base break and the "flute" were created at the same time.

I agree with Dave, looks a little deep and well centered to simply be a thinning strike.

Good 1st in situ pics.

Comanche- With the shape of it, that's what I am wondering. I have found a number of points in the area, (woodland / archaic) most on a camp site. But I did find what I think is a paleo knife 100 yds down steam from this one.

Could just be the pictures, but it looks like fire pop to me. I dont have, and never have had any fluted pieces to compare to though.
