1-16 12 creek finds

Well I was bummed about the night dig being called off so I took a rake to my two favorite gravel beds. I found four of the five (counting brokes) on the same bed that I found the Dalton/Plainview on a couple of months ago. They were covered in heavy silt so they are getting a vinegar bath right now. I will post cleaned up finds of them later.

The broken midsection looks like a paleo piece. It has some wicked oblique transverse flaking on it. I could'nt capture the flaking well enough with the camera though. Maybe after its bath I can get a better pic of it. Or tomorrow if the sun is out.

Anyway, these made me feel better about missing out on the night dig. Even though I had a good feeling that I was gonna pop out a killer corner tang!

I bet that took the edge off the canceled dig. Some nice stuff you saved from the freezing cold water.

Those are some good finds. I really like seeing what you find on the hill since I was there on the first hunt. Going to try and get up there in March. I'll let you know if I will be and maybe we can get a hunt in.

Good alternative plan to help ease the pain from the cancelled dig. That clear water sure makes for a nice window to look through. And the sand find and scenario sure has some WOW factor going for it too. Well done.
