Stone Sculpture

About 50 years ago in port huron Michigan, while digging up dirt for a garden, I found what seems to be a partial piece of a stone sculpture of a animal. Its about the size of a large mans thumb, a little hallow inside. I was just wondering if it could be part of the Michigan Indian culture. Thank you, for anyone that might give me any information,

Are you sure it's stone and not pottery? Looks like it could be part of a effigy bowl or something??? Cool find whatever it is.

To me it looks like a dog, though I can't figure out why one side has that round protrusion and the other side doesn't. As others stated, it could very well be broken off from a Pottery Vessel. Very cool find whatever it is.
