1/25/12 Quick Walk Thru the Rodeo Arena

We got some good rain over the last 2 days. It died off this evening so I headed out to a local site. It is as close to a plowed field as I can get. It's about a 2 1/2 acre rodeo arena right on top of a good camp site. I only got in about 30 minutes of hunting before the rain started back. I'm happy with this for that amount of time.

Chris

The middle 1 is made from petrified wood. I have found several bird points and Garys in this arena. I have also found the pole end for 2 celts, 1 Paleo point, and hundreds of pottery shards. I'm waiting for the rest of 1 of the celts.

Cool finds.

Not to pick on the humble Gary point, but if I was a rider and got kicked off and landed on a Gary, I'd be mad. If it was a scotty or clovis, not so much.

The only thing that gets me about this site is the owner. He cares absolutely ZERO about artifacts. I have frre range of all his property. He told me when he first plowed the arena they he knows he busted a few pots. He said he would be plowing and pottery chunks would be everywhere, and he just kept going. Him telling me that almost made me sick.
