Three Savannah River's and Quartz tools

I hit a spot right off the Catawba River I have'nt been to in a month or so. We have had some good rains since then. I picked up a quartz square back knife then found three Savannah Rivers. The SRs are typical. Most experts can not agree if they were spear points or knives or both. Also, there is a sharp little graver, thumb scraper, and a pottery shard. The Savannah Rivers are late Archaic which explains the pottery. All in All a good Friday.

The first two are rhyolite and the third is silicified slate.

Good hunting Scott. Three whole Sav. Rivers would be a great day imo. Takes me a few trips at least to come up with whole ones. Nice haul.

Great looking finds and in situ pics Scott. Three Savannah River Points in the same day makes for a great hunt.

Cool piece of pottery too. We find a good bit of that pattern down here as well...We call it the "peanut butter cookie" pattern.

Good day for sure. Hopefully you can save some more out of there before they strip the site off and build condos.
