Back to the Arena. Couple of Nice Bird Points

I carried my son out for an afternoon hunt at my favorite rodeo arena. I went there earlier and picked up a couple of points right after a rain. It had dried out a little and it was easier to see some of the colors of flint. I didn't get any in-situs because I didn't know what anything was untik I flipped it out. I really like these 2 birds. The colors on them are really nice.

Chris

Nice to see those Broncos and Bulls missed stomping on a few good ones for you.

Nice finds....in my area, cattle stockades where they loaded/unloaded cattle or sheep are good areas to hunt because they always seem to be placed right in the middle of old native campsites. I think it is because of the sandy soil that must have been favored as living areas that attracks the placement of the stockades. I'm not sure about this, but it seems to hold true. Of course, the down side is stomped up relics, but they do get churned up consistantly...I guess just like tilling on farmland.

stock pens

Worked for a guy for about a month picking up all the rocks in his horse pen that never seemed to end. He of course built it on top of a midden. We found a few points and a couple real nice grinding stones. That was a fun couple weeks.
