Apple Hill Today's Dig

Artifact Jack Called to ask if I wanted to screen some wet ground heck I would love to try . It was rough screens keep clogging but I found a few better than sitting home I forgot to get any pics of Jacks finds but here's my days worth my arms and hands are killing me . From the Apple Hill California Site . I added a photo of another piece i found after a light scrub on this flat round stone I noticed the grind marks maybe a unfinished pendent ?

Those are some nice finds. That slate point looks old, and I think it is 1 of the longest pieces I have seen you find on that site. And I understand all about the wet dirt. It is wet here for the 1st time in a year. My big hole I have been digging has a couple feet of water in it. Had to start a new hole last time. But great finds. The way those types of points are selling right now, you are a rich man. Haha

That serrated Gunther is a fine point. Is that long dart point a Vandenberg? Very nice one whatever it is. Well worth the achy muscles. Nice finds.

Good to see you are back in the swing of things there on the Apple. No doubt about your ground-on stone having been shaped down. The injuns had a master plan for it, but hard to say just what. Maybe it is finished just like it is? Good eye on that one.

Dennis, that serrated point is gorgeous, and that long one is very interesting. Is that shale?
Chardonnay just found a round soapstone object very similar to what you found there. No hole, either. Hope she shows it

Thanks Nyatt . The long slender point is gray chert I would like to type it but it would be a wild guess on my part . Here's a couple more photos it has a big stack theres a hinge fracture right next to it . Maybe they gave up on this before finish .
