Peek in a creek :-)

I took a hike on a creek channel here in town for a couple hours today. At first I didnt see anything and then I found a chip then a couple more so that kept me going. Then I found an almost complete Eastgate, which put a nice smile on my face. I walked it for another hour and didnt see much of anything, then I found a couple pieces of a stone bowl so I kept going and right around the corner I seen something black sticking out of the bank :-)
What a beauty it is. Its quite different from what I usually find around here both in size and shape/style.

That one is a real "killer". Looks like it could do some damage.

Thanks guys, Dennis you are right, you gotta love a trail of chips leading to a treasure :-)

Charlie, every once in a great while you can find stuff like this on this side of the mountains but not very often. Definetly a rare find for Lane County.

Sweet point. I'd be interested in knowing the type myself.

Thanks guys, all the rain has definetly washed out some new goodies. The water is finally going down but we still need a lite rain to wash all the silt off, then the hunting will be fantastic. As for the type im still trying to dial it in. My guess is that it was reworked into a knife or maybe an atlatl triangle. It looks like two seperate chipping styles but both roughly around the same time period. Also 99.9% of the obsidian points around here are made from river cobble obsidian and most of these are smaller than a golfball which is why you dont see big obsidian points or tools in this area very often. he base has some grinding on both sides and a clean ovoid break in the center, possibly once a stem? If you guys have any ideas id love to hear em.
