A Hunt With My Father

My father called me Tuesday to see if I wanted to go hunting for a while so we got together and went to the field where I found the nice black Point last week. We didn't have much luck, with me finding the only good Point, but we did have fun and it was good to get out and hunt with my dad again. He still gets around really well for being 83 years old.

I also found an old bottle dump and pulled out 4 pretty good old bottles. Only one is a cork type though.

Here's some pictures of the days finds, a couple in situs and one showing a small bevel on one side of the Point from resharpening, and a couple of my father in action. You can see how warm it was since dad is wearing shorts on the last day of January.

Great time with your father! 83 years young. Hey, is that stemmed point not a heavily resharpened type with long ears like a Calf Creek? Great in situ by the way.

Sounds like a great time Steve. From the pictures, he looks pretty good for 83. Those are some great in-situs, and the material looks great. I am loving this weather. I read somewhere that we had 29 inches of snow at this time last year, and this year we have 2 inches so far!

Cherish that time, Steve. My Dad is never going to be able to get out like that again, and it's breaking my heart.

Thats very cool that you and your dad are still hunting together and strange enough a few days ago i stumbled on this article about your dad teaching you to hunt artifacts. If you dont mind I would like to post a link to the write up, give the the go ahead and I will post it. Guess it was your turn to pick the activity for the day !!!!

Awesome. I'm hoping to get to hunt with my father a time or two this spring, if he feels up to it. Enjoy those times!
