Black Slate Gorget

This black (slate?) gorget was dug from a site along the Medina River here in Bandera County Texas. I am no Richard McReynolds for sure, but made a drawing of both faces to show some of the etching/engraving. No way this would ever show up in a photo. Found in association with predominately middle archaic types. Sorry for the bad picture. Paul

Was that in Victors frame Paul? Can't believe it's all gone! That's a first for me to see a collection disappear !

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Bobby,
I didn't find it. It was dug by Victor Woods. I am very familiar with the site as I dug in it years ago. I am the keeper of it now though

Patrico,
Yeah, Kind of sad in a way. He dug the gorget about the time he found "THE PERD" from the same camp. Post a picture of the finest Merrell in Texas IMO. Paul

Now you got me curious. Who is Victor Woods and what happened to his collection?
