Michigan In February Who'd a thought

Do to the crazy weather here in Michigan I was able to get out and find a few artifacts this week.

First I found this little fire popped birdie

I also found these interesting bones not sure what they are but they were in the fire pit.

The tip of one shows a little polish like it may have been used as a perforator.

and finally I found this sweet little celt best one I have found

The bones are the fins off of a catfish. Cool finds.

Cool, I never thought about that, but that makes senses given the proximity of the camp to the river. I have been jabbed by those fins enough that I should have thought of it. Thanks for the heads up.

Very nice finds. I love that celt. This weather has been amazing! I've gotten in some winter hunting I would have never thought possible in Jan/Feb.

Thanks everyone that celt is probably my best find ever. About had a coronary when I saw that bit poking out of the sandy bank. Another strange occurences for February ended up with a case of poison ivy on the trip. I not complaining though
