Nice Scallorn In-Situ

Found this one along with the ones in the next photo at Starr Ranch Abbot Springs Bird Camp on Thur. 2-2-12. In central Texas this site dates to the Austin Interval of the Late Prehistoric. The Scallorn landed perfectly exposed as you see when I dumped a 5 gal bucket of dirt on my 30X30 inch quarter inch mesh hand screen. Sorry for the inferior phone photos. I should have a real camera soon and get better quality shots.

That's sweet. I am planning on getting down to the Star ranch sometimes soon. Might have to try and get a hold of an expert like you to help me out. Where I dig is just sand. Any rock I dig up is lithic material. It will be a whole new ball game down there.
