a few paleo points and a hafted bone handle...

First, my latest non-Gary points: A San Pat Geneill(?), an Albany Knife, and a Uvalde.

Today I found what appears to be a bovine bone tool handle. The way it had been meticulously wrapped with something (metal perhaps?) makes me think its not that old. But it does seem to have slot cut into one end where some kind of object was hafted. It was found in a dry lakebed under six inches of sediment.

Cool finds. The Albany scraper is a great example.

I can't see the bone pic well enough, is it a single line wrapped around the bone or are they individual circles? A single line cut in might be a sign it could be a spiral sliced ham.

D'oh!

That makes way more sense. It just doesn't show any other obvious butcher marks.

The helix does kind of spiral into itself at the ends though, which makes it look like it had been wrapped.

Great Old Finds.
I would say If the ""Uvalde was found with these and the Base is ground it is a ""Victoria.

That's pretty funny. Maybe the metal it was wrapped in was the foil that most sliced hams come in.

Coming back and looking at the points, those are three awesome examples of paleo/early archaic workmanship.
