a friend wanted me to show these chert tools and pottery he found along the Savannah River..

Pretty cool, he just see them or was he specifically looking for them? ext he will probably find a complete bowl...lol
And wow, I never knew there was an actual Savannah RIVER(not the point). They must have named the river after the point.

No, the river came first, Cap. The Savannah River type was named by Coe in 1964.
Allendale has some great Coastal Plains chert. Your friend should be able to find some good points if he can get there ahead of the SC hordes. |
