Size: 8.6 KBIm new to this site and using a computer. Its been a good couple of days. I picking around a campfire. Most of the points were two feet down, they were on the first line of shells and rocks. It was hard not to break them because of the way they were laying on the rocks. The campfire had full logs, its a first for me. Usually, it just bits and pieces. I need help identifying the points and a couple of other things. I have a box full of pottery I found over the past couple of years. Ive always thought it was from earlier settlers, but now I think it might be from indians. Any advice I could get would help.

I been picking here since I was a kid. Its been fun. Ive found some nice stuff and now I want to learn about it. I have probaly about twenty diffrent holes just like this one. There all about the same. I usually find three to four points a day. Ive learned were to dig for them at , usually in front of big trees or on the side of the hill. We have a big spring that is a half mile from the river. Its probaly thirty acres of good dirt, solid camp. Any information I could get would help, like what I can say and show.

Little River,

Some nice finds. Can't really see the artifacts in close detail, but looks like Pedernales, Bulverde, Ensors and a San Saba (Ensor related). Lots of Ensor on the Leon downstream to the Little River in Bell County. Just from the chert, you must be downstream in the Academy area? If you are finding pottery, should be some arrowpoints also.

Nice finds.

difficult from the pic but, from Left to right....
1. Bulverde or LaJita?
2. Ensor
3. Paleo? It's fuzzy but it appears Clovis.
4. Can't see enough
5. Comanche Pedernales
6. ? Is it complete? Al Magre maybe?

Little River,

That's a nice group of artifacts you have there. Looks like you have a great site to work.

My brother works in Little River/Academy and you likely know him.

Welcome to the board and I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your finds. They are similar to those I find in Milam County.
