Question Paint Cup? Artifact? Geofact? Help Please

I found this in a creek where I have found a few broken points, so I thought maybe it was something, but not sure. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Doug.

Wow that is very cool. I doubt it's a geofact, looks like it was chipped out and maybe worn down a little from being in the creek. I'd say paint cup or something like that. Awesome find.

Thanks for the replies to my post. I just read the "Read before you post to What is this?" and thought maybe I should included a little more info. The biggest hole or whatever you would call it is maybe just a little over an inch deep and just over 2 inches wide. The second smaller hole is a little over half an inch deep and almost 2 inches wide. I dont know what kind of material it is but it is a very heavy rock for its size. I don't think this is actually a black rock because most of what I find in this creek is more than creek stained it is pollution stained since people dump there "Grey Water" from there washing machines and such, into the creek, at least this is my theory and I could be wrong. Anyways I thought maybe this might help someone to possibly identify this rock whether it be a geofact or artifact, and sorry that I did not include this info in the beginning. Thanks, Doug.

The rock looks like Iron ore or hematite,,,,If it were a paint cup the indentations would be smooth,,,,I can see where it looks like water has made these,,,with all the pock marks///jmo
