Miller CO Mystery
This big biface was found in Miller CO AR. The patina is very deep into the stone. It varies between 1/2 and 1 inch thick. The edges appear heavily used all around. The material is like nothing that I usually see from the area. There are small fossils throughout, and it looks something like Burlington, but I am thinking more likely an Oklahoma material.
I'm interested in opinions on age and material. ![]()

They find a lot of big round chopper/biface/frisbee/core things like that in Northern Florida and Georgia.
Some of the them have been found in paleo context here. |

This is some material I found in a local creek. Its somewhat similar although it has the large, black inclusions.

Roger, don't know the material but that platter looks real worn and heavily patinated. If we found in our area I would defiantly put it in Early Archaic / Paleo.

Wow, that's a monster... I'd say early archaic if not paleo... No idea on the material... Raymond
