What's this type???

This one has on odd base. I'm not quite sure what to call it. The button style base looks like it was made in a diamond shape or has an ancient ding making it that way.
Made of Edwards chert.
Found along the Sabine River.

Don't take my word for it, but I think that it looks like a Ross? Not for sure.
One nice piece no matter what it is! On Woody Blackwell's web site he has knapped out A few Ross blades yours looks like his, just a little smaller.

I remember someone posted one a long time ago on the old prosbb similar to yours.

A lot of us thought Ross, but I think some locals thought rebased knife like George said. Does anyone else remember that piece?

I was thinking the same when I saw it. I have seen a couple of points where Perino offered that same opinion. This one has a different looking style of work around the base. The edges around those big notches are very steep, and doesn't seem consistent with the rest of the work.

I agree with George and Perino to a Point,,,But the wide Corner Notches on this Guy makes me think Motley.Perhaps the Expanding part of the base ,,,Snapped while in the haft..
The thing that is Throwing me is,,,The Knapping just looks older than Middle Archaic.////jmo
Great Find. The Patina and sheen are great!////c
