just a weird shaped rock?

Okay, I found this a couple years ago 8+ from the river bank. The area that it came from is known to have multiple Indian villages there. But no artifacts were found there on that trip. So is it just a weird shaped river rock or is it a carved head thing?

It was probably shaped naturally, but may well have been picked up and carried by the Indians for the same reason you picked it up - it's COOL!

I totally agree with this idea..I've found many unique looking Geofacts in well established camp sites ( in many cases right next to artifacts, chippings ect) and I have to believe humans have always been curious and like us..easily amused by interesting shaped rocks.

Deputy Dog. Check the ear !

WAY cool rock. And probably regarded as special indeed by whoever put it there.

Factoid : the ancient Chinese valued pieces of jade that looked like something naturally far above jade that had been carved by people.

Not every culture has the same set of assumptions about things.
