strange finds

coworker found these {fossils?} on his property. Ive never seen anything like it in my many years in the hill country. on looks like a turtle shell with skull plate glued to the bottom half. tissue type fiber is visible in the middle. The second looks like a spinal disc sandwhich. These were buried about eight inches deep in black dirt that was nested on a caliche cliff. any ideas?
