Yes I believe it was snapped off.

It's the broken tip of a nice artifact, but very hard to tell what type without the base.

How about more pictures - front back sides end and try for a little better focus. I know not that easy. Hate to see it get 'dismissed' so quickly cause it looks to be a nice find.

Is the base broken off or is it made that way? It looks like a very well made piece as far as the body of it goes, but if the base is broken off it will be almost impossible to ID.
