Maybe a small Covington blade?

Can't type it myself but am inclined to think closer to Late/Transitional Archaic than to Paleo. There is no notable grinding of the base and the flake scars simply dont look that old to me. Its a great artifact though and i'd like to know more about it like what other artifacts was it found with and was it a surface find or dug? What County was it found in and what are the terrain and soil features like? These might provide clues to the nature of this point.

If its a point and not a blade, I would say its an Abasolo.

It was found in San Patricio Co.,on the surface,on a hill, next to a creek,in a plowed field. The same day I also found several Early Triangulars and a Meserve. This point has a really different feel than many of the others Iv found and the work on it is really fine.I found it 2 weeks ago along with the rest of these the same day.

Good haul for one day! Congrats. The typology of square and round base base points is difficult and confussing at best. Especialy in South Texas where so many forms from very differant time preiods exist. Meserve is a catchall name that that is discounted as a valid type by many. The picture you provide looks a lot like artifacts I've collected from Webb Co. and mostly dating to the Middle through Late Archaic periods. The gradation of Early Triangular to Tortugas is immense and covers a period of perhaps 4000 years. There is an elongated point of what looks like a light colored pinkish (heat treated?) material that has a somewhat diamond shape base and this is likely a Desmuke point from the Late Archaic. I would like to see a better pic of the point I think you are calling a Meserve. That could indeed be Paleo or maybe a resharpened Tortugas type point. Very nice frame of one day finds to be sure!! Keep it up.

You did very well for one day , nice collection .
The piece in ? Is it beveled ? one side or both ?
There appears to be a possible impact fracture
on both faces from the same corner of the base.
Thanks for sharing , Hope you get a good ID

Not beveled-no impact fractures, just thinned at the base.
