Perd like blade? What is it?

My dad dug this one out in Williamson County TX (Georgetown Dig!).

3 and a quarter inches long.

Perd like tail.

Ears are somewhat wrong for a Perd though. They go straight out instead of sweeping down.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

To me it looks a lot like the Perd variant that folks are referring to as an "Austin" point coined by Rogers nowadays...

Thanks Mojave. Will have to see what sort of info I can turn up on this variant of the Perd. I saw a thread you started on here. You have anything else you can point me to?

Thanks Tdog. Uvalde would have very close to the correct tail.

But ... All the examples I find have the point coming straight down into the ears whereas this mystery comes straight down and then the ears flare out and come straight back in.

True but the flaring ears could be a result of resharpening--especially if it was done in the haft. Uvalde types are found in your area I understand. A new type would require many finds with these common characteristics. Not trying to be argumentative, just trying to justify my reasoning. Food for thought.

No arguments taken Tdog. You're absolutely right about the resharpening. I didn't even take that into consideration.

Hot Rod.
This would have been a Monster.
From my understanding The Austin Point has a distinct Left hand bevel on each face and a Contracting stem.
Looks like a Exhausted Pedernales/jmo.
We can Dismiss Gower and Jetta pretty reasonably i think but,the Knapping is going to be key in typing this one.Esp. since she is so worn out//jmo////c
