Utilized fossils

Here are some photos of some items recovered from an ancient Weanock Indian site on the James River in Virginia. This site was studied and dated by the Commonwealth University of Richmond and the National Geographic to 10,000 plus years. The Shark teeth blades were found near a huge hill that is eroding into the river. That same area has produced the crystals you see in the foreground of the group shot, a fossil bone bead, a grade 10 5" spear/knife blade and tons of pottery shards. We believe this may be a burial mound.
The large tooth and the 2 smaller ones where found at the same time washed out of the mentioned hillside after a hurricane in the last year. They were less than 12 feet apart when found. The crystals were all found in a very small area in the waters edge with in 3 feet of each other. We found numerous hands full of crystals.
My real question is about the solid rock fossil fish fin looking item??? It has a perfectly shaped cone hole in the bottom end that appears to still have rings of fibrous material lining it. It is my opinion that this was some sort of bearing block. What do you think???
Here is the web address of the items below with larger photos: http://jpegbay.com/gallery/001396264-.html#1

Bearing Block?
What do you mean?
When I find Fossils in Context of a site I really take notice.

Nice Big Sharks Teeth.
The only thing I can think on the Fish Tail Fossil is perhaps a Fire Starter.
Does the Cone Shaped hole look Man Made?Big enough to Hausel a Stick to make a "Friction Fire.
Very Neat Site.Thanks for posting////c

Fire starter.

That is what I meant actually, just didn't know the term. A bearing block for the top of the fire starter stick or drill. The hole is the perfect size for what you mention and looks very man made.
I have tons of stuff from this site. We hit it after every big storm and find new items all the time.
On the Shark teeth: the gums of the large tooth appear to have been shaped and do not reflect the same gum shape as most teeth like it. I compared it to many others. Ebay has a great number of examples to look at. The smaller teeth match exactly to known shark teeth blades listed online.

Awesome, they loved and pondered on fossils, too! Nice examples. All kinds of natural holes in fossil bone. Can't tell. Maybe a sacrum from something....?? Interesting
