odd obsidian point or eccentric
Picked this point up in a blown out campsite, ive never seen anything like it. I suppose it could just be a salvaged messed up point, but i think it made this way intentionally. Maybe an eccentric or special tool? what do you all think

interesting peice soldier, from my personal experience with odd ball points i would think a knapper made it on purpose based on what he had to work with at that moment, may of looked it over thought hell yes im gonna try this one, or tossed it over his shoulder and started a new one,

Yes longtimefree Im glad you agree, it just fully appears to have been intentionally made that way. I dont see evidence of maybe a notching attempt that broke the shoulder off, and if that happened ive seen them where they just made the other notch normal and went with it. but this one has no breakage, just full on made wierd.

almost makes you wonder if it could have been like a spool for small string, or even like a button/pin for some kind of article of clothing. Maybe a fancy graver.....just dunno, but it will make it into a frame near the center as i just really like it

I like it too, and also your outside of the box thinking on this one. This one has some mystery going for it no doubt. Here's a few more odd theories for you to ponder. 1) A finger held re-curved bladelet. 2) Maybe a bird or waterfowl shaped effigy type piece or point therefore literally being a true 'bird point' - lol
Not sure if that is an actual base on it by the pics. Does it have finished edgework going around it too? It seems to have a positive vibe going for it. Your fancy graver idea might just be going in the right direction as well.
