Welcome to Arrowheadology , Joe
Your first piece looks to be some sort of
artifact , others I'm sure can ID it for you.
The smaller spheres I believe are fossilized algae spores (porocystis gloularis)
I've found close to 200 and still enjoy finding them.

very interesting finds. Be carefull or you may start hunting artifacts first and your ole metal detector will become second fiddle.LOL, just kidding, I dont know why more artifact hunters, especially surfacers like myself, dont have a metal detector with us at all times. Maybe most do but its not a common conversation to be heard. if you were to recommend a metal detector which brand and style would it be?

Whites MXT. Great turn on and go detector. I still like metal detecting the best but these indian artifacts have me pretty interested. I do a lot of field hunting where old sites once existed. Running into arrowheads more and more. I would suggest to buy on ebay. I saved about half the cost of a new one. Whites MXT is great for coin shooting and relic hunting. Just found a Indian head penny today.

I needed a reminder to get my old Garrett out and tuned. BUT, not so easy to skim the surface where there is so much rock.
Maybe someone should start a new thread

The two spheres look like ceramic marbles to me . They call the plain ones "commons or commies". The top one looks like it has the flat spot on it where it was sitting in the kiln. Can't tell from the pic but the ones I have found are slightly speckled in color.
My opinion (which is often wrong),

Hey Joe...I got an old White Coinmaster that I've used only a few times. All I found with it are nails and poptops. Is that typical? Or are my settings out of whack? Nice finds there by the way.

Where is your descrimination set? I would get a set of items and test where they register... Iron nail, aluminum can, 1982 penny or prior (pure copper), a nickle, a piece of gold jewelry, and a piece of silver jewelry. See where each one descriminates out then decide what metal you want to hunt for.

Original Post: They look like clay marbles to me as well. Nice Finds. First pic looks like a geofact IMO.

I've seen some of the fossil globular algae before, and they have a texture that looks fossil like. These look smoother than that.

A lot of people call them marbles or game stones, and I am sure they did make marbles, I think the vast majority of them are ceramic agitators.
