Uniface Thing?
Decided to go on a little Hunt yesterday evening and hoped to find something significant (point, axe or something) but only found a couple headscratchers.
This is an interesting artifact and its well flaked and large enough I wouldnt just call it debitage but dont know what to call it. Small knife or scraper perhaps? Anctiously awaiting responses so what would you call it? Last edited by Middle Mountain; 01-30-2012 at 07:49 AM. Reason: pic |

I've found a few of those. They seem to come in different sizes but all about the same shape. I've heard them referred to as thumb scrapers. I guess because you could put your thumb on there and use it well as an end scraper. Nice find.

There was a post a while back addressing the hafting of scrapers with that shape. Will see if I can find the link.
