Drill base???? Maybe?

Found this in the creek along the field where we have found some points. Kinda a bad picture, but the other side is very smooth and round like a doorknob. But this side is kinda notched out and the middle has a little slot. Whole thing is about the diameter of a soda can and fits in your hand nicely.
Thinking its maybe some kinda base for a drill or something?
Any ideas???

Are you thinking like for a bow/drill fire starter? If so, I would guess no... it would be totally rounded inside due to the stick spinning (you wouldn't have those angles inside). JMHO...

Yes, I was thinking firestater thing. Its almost as someone drilled a perfect "half" a drill hole in there. Guess its just a geofact but kinda cool it itself! I'll see if I can have my buddy send me some better pictures of it also. Thanks for looking!
