Far West Type ?

The three amigos were found in the same 2'x 2'x 2' foot deep hole from the apple hill California site But the black obsidian base caught my attention any thoughts on type ? The last photo is top side showing thickness . I know theres not much to go on .

I think I asked you about that far left point earlier this week. It has a very unique appearance to me. My familiarity is eastern Sierra material. I think that far left point is archaic. The mid section in the middle looks like it may be upside down. If so and the basal haft edges are ground then I would say it looks like a Haskett base. Is it ground? The far right base I am not sure. From the pics tough to see. Are those large thinning flakes? Is it ground? If not maybe just a blade base. Looks unfinished from pics.

Hopefully western CA folks like GBM, fly junkie, erb, high sierra and nyatt can chime in on that far left point.

The edges of the mid section might have a little grinding the flaking is hard to see looking at the broken ends the material is glassy grey. The obsidian base on the right has thinning flakes and basal grinding theres cortex on the right ear its rough and not much left . Here's a couple more photos of the point on the left It has a stack on one side .

That point caught my eye for the same reason, Sierratracker.

Dennis, I'd been noticing how similar your finds have been to those we have here along the north coast. My first view of these brings me pause.
They look different.
Is this the feeling you are getting, also ?
That you might be getting into another time period ?

We call those crude ones, "Short Bus Points", made by "challenged" local Maidu and Miwuk. Looks like they beat two rock together to make some semblance of a tool. LOL Haskett won't be found on the West Slope, but most odd points can be attributed to poor workmanship and lousy material choice. What are found locally, though, are Cascade and Humboldt, both early archaic types.
