Help with ID on 2 points

I found the whiteish knife yesterday in my neighbors field here in Northeast Indiana. I'm pretty sure it's a knife, right? And from what time frame? (I cleaned it off, the material is spotted)

I found the flint arrowhead about 2 years ago in Northwest Kentucky. I haven't seen any before like it so what type is it?

I would also love to know what each was used for. What was the purpose for a knife? What was killed with an arrowhead of that size? I know I have lots of questions, but I'm always curious to know more.

Your first piece was probably discarded when they could remove the huge stack on the top side in your side view picture. They were more then likely going to make a Point from it.

The second piece is a Woodland culture Point and could be a Lowe as Tdog pointed out.
