Post Small arrowhead? Flint perhaps. *UPDATE* added more pics*

I wish I knew more about this stuff but I simply don't. Does anyone have any idea what type of point this is? Looks like the tip was broken off.

The Indian head penny next to it is for reference. I found that in the same field as the point. The point was found in a cw campsite in North Alabama. Appears to be flint. I keep seeing this stuff laying one on the ground. I'm starting to get as excited about finding these ancient artifacts as much as metal relics.

Thanks in advance.

You know thats kinda what got me started in arrowhead hunting, I live in Franklin Tn. and there is lots of good metal detecting, one day me and a friend where hunting a union camp that was becoming a neighborhood, near a creek on top of a hill. We had great sucsess finding bullets and even the side plate and hammer off a rifle but, I noticed lots of flint chips and ended up picking up a bunch of broke bases/tips/scrapers. Wasnt long after that, I put down the Tesoro Bandito and got me a stick!!!!
As for your piece, maybe post a few pics with a differnt angle, that would help, Its for sure a bird point, as for type I cant quite figure it out. Thanks for sharing!!!

Not sure on type but not a knife. Is that base intact? Resembles Dalton but I don't think that's what it is. Sorry. Nice piece even with the tip gone.

It's a tiny little thing. No base that I can see. And yes a shame the tip snapped off. There's hundreds of pieces of flint out here. Only when I see something with sure-fire definition will I pick it up. I can't see how another angle would help ID it though. It's pretty uniform all the way around. One side looks the same as the other.

Tdog, I saw a bit of Dalton in it also but im with you, dont think it is one. And by angle I meant more squared up pic, directly over the top,it looks like the shot is more on the right side, could just be me. And yes different angles can help out a bunch when typing points, its just a matter of if its really important enough to invest the time taking/copying/pasting you know....all that!
