New point ????

I got this at an auction a few weeks ago, I very rarely purchase points but this one caught my eye, its not the prettiest and Im not certain what type it is, its from Ill.I got it dirt cheap. My main question is the glossiness, would yall think heat treated or found in creek and just river polished?

Cool point Keith, I would say that one came out of a creek and has some river polish to it.

It is quite polished. Not like a field find but more creek looking. Appears to be a Dickson to me.

Looks like a river polished Morrow Mountain to me. From my observations, MM bases are more rounded where Dicksons are flat. Also MM's are somewhat fat where Dickson's are more thin and exhibit higher quality flaking. A good one IMO.

Nice little Purchase.
I have to say with the Re-curved Blade edges.
The serrations
And the Clear Picture showing the Rind intact at the base.

I can see Pickwick but I've not seen any Morrow Mountains with that long of a base.

Looks a lot like a Mulberry Creek to me! That is if you believe Overstreet #4 pages #573-577.
